This is a vintage example inspired bookcase of an English steamer trunk. Based on a design once belonging to a world traveller named Tom Richards. Called the globe trekker - it is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of expedition to new frontiers.
The hard shell is wrapped in water resistant, hand waxed and worn marquee canvas along with hand curved solid bamboo woodem banding and antique brass style hardware. The last bottom shelf lifts to reveal an additional secret storage compartment.
Perfect to display and store books or ornaments. Solid and sturdy.
